Mama;
i am actually about to get off. we usually are on around 11:30 12... but today is a little different cuz we set up appointments throughout the day and right when we would be emailing so we came early :{ sorry mama.
to answer all your questions:
I love that you are so involved in service and your ward... what other types of service do you do? We help move people, paint, clean and fold laundry :} help cook meals for families in the ward… or dinners for the missionaries haha
Do you do projects with your district or zone as well? Apparently they used to but don’t anymore cuz every one else is so busy so sister Duersch and I are trying to find some service we can start doing every week :}
When you cook what do you make? Usually Pasta-roni white cheese noodle, chicken noodle soup, or left over dinners from previous nights. Do you trade off cooking or each fend for yourselves? We go the “fend for yourself” approach and it seems to work haha
How is Kyla and Robert and Angela doing? Well…. They are doing pretty good. Kyla didn’t come to church yesterday so that was really sad…. But we taught her the Word of Wisdom (cuz we needed to and she is a crazy coffee person) and she agreed that the Lord does not want her to drink coffee so she said she would stop! So cool! Do they like coming to church? When they come, they do love it… its just the getting them to church every week that is hard. we have been getting members to come with us to our appointments with Kyla so they have some solid friends in the ward :} So far she says she hasn't had any coffee :] which is awesome!!
How has your testimony been strengthened this week? My testimony has been strengthened by a training that our district leader did on Friday… it was all about “What is a Successful Missionary” and I learned that a successful missionary isn’t all about the numbers or how many baptisms you got, but it is about the spirit… is the spirit with you when you teach? Is the spirit teaching people through you? Also it is watching someone come closer to Jesus Christ. So AWESOME!
What new thing have you learned from your studies? How being on the Lord’s side is a must. I am in Alma chapter 55-59 and it is all about the Nephites vs the Lamanites and how the Nephites have the Lord protecting them so they win all the time… but if they were to become prideful and loose the Spirit, then they don’t win.
What is your favorite thing about Lawton? The members. They are all so awesome! And they take us in like we are their own kids. I feel so loved here. Plus Kyla is awesome!
Do you drive or does your comp? My comp drives, but she hasn’t been feeling well (flu) and can’t drive…. So I have been driving again haha
When are transfers so we know where to send Christmas stuff? Transfer s are next Wednesday, the 19th of November. I don’t think I am going anywhere… but I would hold off just in case haha
What happened this week that makes you laugh? Well yesterday, we went to a members house for dinner and they have what is called the “puffy French Toast challenge” and what it is is a piece of bread soaked in pancake batter and deep fried… and you have to eat as many as you can… Sister Duersch holds the record with 7 slices. Elder Winterton last night wanted to beat her record and tried for 7 ½ but only got to 6 before getting ready to puke it all up… it was so nasty! But we all laughed about it.
Have you met your neighbors? I have met most of them and a lot of them do not like missionaries but like us as people... really weird I know haha
Love you so much!
Love meagan
